The story of the tumultuous Rimea-Marre treaty.

Synopsis and Author’s Notes

Rimea-Marre is a fiction piece focusing on the interactions between the leaders of two religions: Rimea and Marreism. Though they have a lot in common (more than they realize), these interactions don’t go particularly smoothly. More specifically, it’s the story of Soyataki Hallia, an executed Rimean priest deeply entangled in the treaty who tries to make sense of it all (and sardonically gawk at all of his terrible choices) from beyond the grave. Put abstractly, it’s a story about letting go, full of familial and religious melodrama, interpersonal conflict, magic, and occasional cannibalism and raising of the dead. The story is mostly prose with occasional illustrations (chapter length, and the number of illustrations per chapter, will probably vary a bit).

Rimea-Marre is set in the Platform universe, but it can be read as a standalone thing (so, while you can poke around the website for bonus context and world-building information, don’t feel like you need to). The story also has a very big “first draft!” label slapped on it — anything you see on here is subject to change at any point (since I am a habitual re-editor of everything I make). I also write very, very slowly. If it’s been over a year without a new chapter, that’s pretty normal! The project isn’t dead. I’m just like that.

Finally, some obligatory content warnings. Rimea-Marre, being a heavier story, deals with some dark topics. Individual chapters have content warning lists visible both from the main page and from the chapter page itself, but these lists often contain spoilers. As a whole, Rimea-Marre regularly depicts emotional manipulation, death and grief, murder, mental illness, familial abuse, injury and gore, cannibalism (Sehens being what they are), body horror, and loads of awful decisions that hurt other people. It isn’t meant to be a horror story outright, but it can lean that way! Be sure to keep that in mind before you engage with it. Due to all of this, I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone under 16.

If you have any questions about the story or just want to chat about it, feel free to message me on my blog or leave a comment below. This story has been bouncing around in my head since way back when I was sixteen and is very dear to my heart, so I am literally always down to talk about it. Have a good one!
